About Asil
Asilcan Simsek began his journey in the hair industry at just 15 years old during a summer break, unaware that it would later become his lifelong passion. After refining his craft in various salons across Istanbul, he discovered the teasing balayage technique, which unlocked his creative potential and set the foundation for his unique artistry.
In 2015, Asil moved to New York City to chase the American Dream. Within his first year, he became a six-figure independent hairstylist and hosted his first independent workshop. His innovative techniques and dedication quickly gained recognition in the industry and on social media, where his hair-focused accounts went viral. Today, with a collective following of over 800,000, Asil is one of the most influential hair colorists worldwide.
Asil has had the honor of appearing on some of the most respected main stages in the hair industry, including Behind The Chair and Modern Salon. He has also been featured on BTC University, one of the largest hair education platforms in the world.
Asil regularly performs at national trade shows such as America’s Beauty Show, International Beauty Show, Beautyworld Middle East, and Orlando Premiere. His international workshops allow him to connect with thousands of stylists globally, sharing his expertise and inspiring others to elevate their craft.
As Truss Professional’s Global Ambassador, Asil masterfully balances his thriving clientele with traveling the world to share his expertise. His achievements include being featured in Beauty Launchpad’s Modern Salon 2019 30 Under 30, earning a 2019 AIA Awards nomination for Hair Colorist of the Year, Hair Brained Awards Nomination and receiving 11 nominations for Behind The Chair’s #OneShot Awards—one of which placed him in the Top 5 for the Balayage category.
